Christmas 2009

We stayed home for the holidays this year, and enjoyed having John Mark's family (minus Paul and Christi) come to visit us. They got to meet Curtis and helped us out a lot by helping him work through some "gas issues." :) We had a great time with them, and it was a relief to not have to travel anywhere with an itty-bitty baby.

John Mark's family left the morning of Christmas Eve, and we had our "mailed in" Christmas that evening. My parents and Mimi sent us Christmas in a box since we wouldn't be seeing them this year. We had a great time watching Wesley open each box with excitement. He's learned how to do the "oohs and ahhs" of gift opening, especially after all the many gifts he received from our generous church family.

Early December

We've had some pretty cold days that have kept us inside more than we would like, so one day we went next door to the church building to let Wesley run around and burn off some energy. He got to work on his performing art skills while practicing the piano, singing and reading into the microphone and dancing around to the "big music."

Curtis just chilled on the floor and eventually fell asleep.

Curtis is packing on the ounces lately. He started and has remained heavier than Wesley at the first several weigh-ins. His eyes are blueish and his sparse hair medium brown. Wesley's eyes are greenish and his hair light auburn. But without color, their baby pictures look quite similar.

I held up the tube of Jimmy Dean before I cut off a section to cook for breakfast. "What's that?" I asked Wesley. "Ostrich. Let me eat ostrich," he said. He knows the difference, but the wrong one comes out quite often.

One of Wesley's latest mannerisms is telling one of us, "Thank you for coming!"
Also, there are his new praying habits. Sometimes he wants to lead prayer before a meal or some other time. He typically says something like, "Wesley pray for Jesus. Pray for Lazarus, that he come out." Some other Bible stories have occasionally made the cut: "Pray for Zacchaeus, that he come down."
