California Visit

I just got back from a week-long trip to California to see Lela, Colin and Mavry. I tried to schedule it around the time Baby #2 would arrive, but he/she is still yet to come! I had a great time getting to know little Mavry better. She's a silly one.

We went on a long walk together,

and took silly pictures together.

We also read LOTS of books, played the "Ya!" game and swung on the porch swing a lot together. And it was fun hanging out with Lela and Colin too. :)

Wesley's 6th Birthday Party!

Wesley had another wild and crazy birthday party at home this year. We celebrated a week after his real birthday again since we were at the lake for his real birthday. Wesley really wanted an Iron Man birthday. Both boys are really into Iron Man thanks to Daddy's own mild fascination with him. :)

We had a pizza and cupcake party. Gin-Gin was a big help in making the cupcake liners with Iron Man stickers. We also got a fun variety of bottled drinks and juice boxes to celebrate.

All of the attendees got Iron Man masks, but no one wore it for most of the party like Curtis (who continues to wear it regularly). They also got an Iron Man tattoo, red and gold M&M's and a squishy super hero that (supposedly) flies when you stretch it and let it go.

We didn't do gifts from friends, but did ask them to bring a card. Most were homemade, which was great. Even some siblings pitched in and made him one. They were proud to show off their creations.

Labor Day Trip 2013

This year for our annual labor day family vacation with John Mark's family, we visited Lake Texoma. We stayed at a lake cabin (wasn't really ON the lake) that had some quirks, but it was nice. It had a lot of stuff behind it for the kids to play on/with. They would go out in the morning before it got crazy hot. 

Wesley's birthday was on the Saturday that we were there. We had ice cream to celebrate, and he got to open some gifts. One of his gifts was Skip Bo Junior from Uncle Paul and Aunt Christi. Wesley and Sadie played it a lot and sometimes the adults got to join in. This is Wesley after a big win.

Baby Micah

 One evening most everyone went swimming. Wesley didn't really want to go, so he and I stayed back and played some more Skip Bo. I headed down to the lake after a few games to take some pictures, but Wesley isn't in any because he opted to stay behind with Golly and Granddad and play with his Avengers figures.
