Easter 2018

We had a beautiful Easter day! Curtis chose to hunt eggs as Batman, but everything else was otherwise pretty normal. :)

 John Mark and the boys enjoyed a nice spring Boy Scout camping weekend mid-March.

We all spent a beautiful and warm spring day at Granbury Lake with Wesley's friend Grant and his family, as well as his old first grade teacher (and friend) and her daughter.

At the end of March, John Mark's side of the family got together in Dallas for Sara's birthday lunch. We ate at Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum and then found a pie place while walking around for a sweet treat. The cousins got to play while the adults chatted around the table in this fun part of the city. We bought a whole pie, but it was significantly more expensive to have them cut it, so we just cut it with a plastic knife and ate off of napkins. :)

Dallas Heritage Village

Around spring break, we used our POGO pass to visit a 19th century community museum called Dallas Heritage Village. Many original pioneer and Victorian homes and buildings from around Dallas were moved to this location to reenact a working community from over 100 years ago. The village is very interactive and full of interesting original tools, decor, etc. We got to walk through old homes, a bank, grocery store, church building, school house, doctor's office, train station, hotel, and others places. I've always enjoyed these types of museums that help you imagine what life was like so long ago. After the visit, we met up for dinner with Uncle Stan and Aunt Carol who were in Dallas for physical therapy!

Wesley's SeqQuest Aquarium Field Trip

In March, the fifth grade went on a field trip to SeaQuest Aquarium in Fort Worth. Wesley hung out with some of his good buddies all day while petting snakes, sting rays (still a favorite), and iguanas. Coincidentally, our guide was an alumni of Wesley's school and had the same teacher for 5th grade!
