Easter 2017

We had a beautiful Easter this year! Evie got a kick out of putting all of 2 eggs in her bag. She was most excited about looking in her bag, taking her egg out of the bag, and putting the egg back in the bag. :) She did not enjoy taking a million pictures after hunting eggs, but we got a few good ones anyway. Wesley and Curtis still had a grand time hunting eggs and finding their golden egg with $1 inside. Someday they will be harder to excite.

Curtis' Field Trip to Ft. Worth Science and History Museum

Curtis' class visited the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History at the end of March. He and I got to go solo on this trip (I wasn't assigned any other kids to keep track of). I loved spending my day with him. I have gone on this field trip MANY times with Wesley, but somehow this was the first one with Curtis!

lying down. Kids loved this!

Settling in to watch the Dolphins documentary at
the Omni theater. It took Curtis awhile to adjust to
the theater.

At the end of the day, Curtis got really involved in this display that
showed the way different types of energy are created from various
resources like wind, oil, solar, water, etc. 

I'm so glad I got to accompany Curtis on this day! We really enjoyed it.

Sara's Birthday Gathering

We met up with Kevin, Sara, Sadie, Micah, Granddad and Golly in Rockwall at the Hubbard Reservoir to celebrate Sara's birthday in mid-March. The boys had never been to a Bass Pro Shop, so we arrived early to let them experience some "outdoorsy" things like shooting fake guns. :) Of course, they loved getting to try target shooting, and we never let them spend money on games like this! They had a huge fish tank and several impressive animals in their taxidermy display.

After spending some time at Bass Pro, we met up with the family for a yummy supper at Gloria's and then spent a couple of hours walking around the water and watching the boats and people. It was a beautiful evening, and the cousins had a ball running around together.

We all stayed the night with Kevin and Sara, and John Mark preached at their church the next day. A fun weekend spent with family!

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Over spring break, we finally made it to Glen Rose to visit Dinosaur Valley State Park to see the dinosaur tracks. Since John Mark was still writing his dissertation, this was our only trip during the break. We had a really great time together and the boys loved wading in the water and hiking around to see the tracks.The tracks were so impressive! Most were underwater due to some recent rain, but they were still very visible.

This area is called "The Ballroom" because there are so many tracks
going different directions, it looks like they had been dancing!
It was really slippery, but they got to walk around among the tracks.

To get to this area, we had to cross the river on
rocks. There was a little current and the rocks
were slippery, so we felt adventurous!
