Wesley set up his own burger stand one day.
He also served milk and orange soda and
made his own currency and receipts!

Abilene Anniversary Trip

June 9th was my parents' 40th anniversary so we took a trip to Abilene for the celebration. Our first stop of the day on Saturday was the ACU campus. It ended up being our last stop of the day, unless you count the emergency room. Wesley's forehead ended up on one of these big rocks not long after this first picture was taken. There was LOTS of blood, crying and a gash that went all the way to the bone. He handled it pretty well overall, but how it all happened is still not clear to us. Apparently, Wesley decided to shut his eyes and start running? He has told us many times since the incident that that was not a good idea.

He thanked me many times
for taking care of him.

The day after

We finally made it to the Grace Museum (which had been planned for the day of Wesley's accident). It was good that we waited because we got to go with Mavry and Lela.

First and Last Days of Kindergarten!

Science Museum Field Trip and the Bunny Savers

In May, Wesley's class took a trip to the Science Museum and Omni Theater. I only had my phone, so these aren't the best pictures. We enjoyed looking at the dinosaur exhibit, shooting water guns outside, and visiting the fun zone that had a pretend supermarket, construction area and trolley car. We ate our sack lunches outside by the fountain and then got to enjoy the film "Flight of the Butterflies" at the Omni. I think I was more excited about going on this trip than Wesley and it did not disappoint!

We've had a lot of bunnies in our yard since Owen has become older and less of a threat. We have many bunny holes in our backyard and sometimes we even see little baby bunnies sticking out of them. One day it was time to mow the yard, and I was nervous about running over a baby bunny that was too small to know to run away from the lawn mower. John Mark took on the task and did come across a baby bunny that was not moving when the mower came near. And so, we had the baby bunny savers come to the rescue. We made a little cage for it out of a shoe box and put some grass in it. John Mark picked it up, and kept holding on even when the bunny made the most awful squealing noise. The bunny made it safely to the shoe box until JM finished mowing. Then Wesley and Curtis got to come be a part of the release. The bunny was too scared to do anything once we opened the box, so we got to watch it for awhile before the wind blew the box over and it ran away.

Kindergarten Zoo Field Trip

Wesley's class trip to the zoo happened to be a pretty chilly one. It was in the low 40's at the end of April! I was in charge of two freezing little boys, and we teamed up with two other freezing little boys and a mom. I kept telling them it was a lot better than it being really hot, but I don't think I had them convinced.

Feeding Ducks and Planting Trees

Back in April when the weather was nice, we met up with Wesley's friend, Clark (and his brother), to feed the ducks at a pond not far from our house. They loved it! Especially Curtis, who even snuck in some pats on the back of one.

The boys also had their first attempt at planting a tree in Misha and Gin-Gin's backyard. I later found out it didn't make it, but the boys had fun nonetheless.
