Wesley's Field Trips

Wesley had two field trips in one week at the end of April that I got to help chaperone. The first was to the Dallas Arboretum. This trip was on a cool rainy day, and the kids had a lot of energy. They weren't supposed to run at the Arboretum, but that was a tough rule to keep as they were trying to stay warm!

This display demonstrated how erosion works. The kids could build their
own mountains, valleys, etc out of a sand-like substance and then
turn on the "rain" to see how it would wash away over time.

The second field trip was on school-wide Cultural Day. The whole school went on a field trip! Different grades went to different museums in Fort Worth, then to the Botanical Gardens for lunch and sketching time. Wesley's class went to the Modern Art Museum. I didn't get to attend the museum part, but I got to join up with them for the Gardens part.

in the muddy water, then cried and cried. :/ We got
her dried off and happy again before we left.

The day at the Gardens was a nice warm one, and the kids really seemed to enjoy their time looking at all of the plants and flowers. They really seemed to like taking the time to draw as well! We had a great time.
