At the beginning of August, we gathered at a hotel in Waco with John Mark's mother's side of the family. Our kids had never met most of the attendees, but everyone made quick friends. Paul and Christi couldn't make it since they live so far, but we did have a FaceTime chat with them. The adults enjoyed relaxing and chatting most of the day, while the younger crowd played whiffle ball in the parking lot and then went for a long swim in both the indoor and outdoor pools. At the end of the day we all went out to eat at a nearby steakhouse, and then came back for more socializing and some games of Twister before calling it a day and heading home.
