Wesley's 7th Birthday Party

Today is Wesley's 7th birthday! We had his party yesterday at Peter Piper Pizza, and it was a surprise! Wesley knew we were going to have a little celebration next weekend when we have a lot of family together at Misha and Gin-Gin's, but he didn't know we were planning a secret friend party at the place he ALWAYS asks us to use for his birthday party. We did not go all out and book a party with an attendant, etc. I just asked two of his best friends (Grant and Jace) from 1st grade. Grant's sweet little brothers came too, which helped make it feel a little more exciting when we all yelled, "Surprise!"

look on his face for a good while. He says he was
very confused. 

Finally figured it out! Curtis didn't know much ahead of
time either, so he wouldn't spill the beans. 

Junk food galore: pizza and soda

After pizza, we took a game break. Each kid got some tokens to spend in the arcade. 

I don't think I've ever heard Curtis laugh the
way he did during this game. Once Daddy
 started helping him shoot stuff on the screen,
he was elated.

This was Wesley's first birthday to get gifts from friends. Happy boy. He only had two guests officially, but he still ended up with so much stuff.

Lego City set mailed from Paul and Christi!

Each goody bag had some yellow sixlets that made me think of lego heads and each got one mystery Lego Movie character figure. Curtis got Good Cop/Bad Cop and Wesley got Emmet, his favorite! Grant also got Emmet, and I'm not sure what Jace got. It was a great time with good friends. Not at all stressful, and I didn't have to clean my house! :) Wesley said he was so surprised to see his best friends when he walked in. Tonight when he prayed before bed, he said, "Thank you for letting me see my friends on a Saturday when I don't normally get to see them."
