End of School Year Activities

May is always SO crazy and busy with end of year events, but it is an exciting time as we look forward to summer!!

Curtis' Piano Recital

Curtis took piano all year. Sometimes it was a struggle to get him to practice, but he still agreed to sign up for next year! (Probably because Wesley decided he wanted to give it a go as well.) There were supposed to be 5 kids performing with Curtis, but with illnesses and other obligations, only he and one other girl were there. They did great together!

Curtis got to introduce himself. His interesting fact about himself was,
"I like pizza."

Curtis' Play Day

First grade field/play day is full of water activities! This day was actually a little cooler than you would expect in May, so a lot of kids ended up on the sidelines wrapped in towels after getting wet. Not Curtis! He kept going to the very end.

Wesley's TAG Night

Wesley had another great year in the TAG program. This year they focused on oceans and space. His final project was impressive! They were assigned to try solving an environmental problem. He chose ways to prevent coral bleaching. He "invented" an underground fully functional lab (including an exercise room) to help implement his methods. They all had such fun ideas and projects. Wesley also developed his own planetary system and included the planets' surface conditions, type of life, temperatures, etc.

Wesley's 4th Grade Texas Play

 The fourth graders put on a fun play portraying most of the history of Texas. They basically wrote the lines themselves and produced the play themselves after doing their own research. There was certainly a narrator that rapped to the tune of "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" intro song. So amazing! Wesley was an unnamed explorer who hung out with various well known explorers like Coronado. He had several lines and delivered them well! John Mark and I were surprised at how many lines he had.
